My research interests center on conformal geometry, which is basically the investigation of when two spaces can be mapped to each other by conformal or quasiconformal maps. Within this area I have worked on problems involving harmonic measure (conformal image of Lebesgue measure on the circle), Kleinain groups and Riemann surfaces (groups of conformal maps on hyperbolic space), Brownian motion (a conformally invariant process), computational conformal geometry and numerical conformal mappings, quasiconformal maps, and holomorphic and harmonic function theory. Recently I hosted (with Stephen Vavasis) a workshop on computational and conformal geometry here at Stony Brook. Slides for the lectures are posted on the Workshop webpage:
