Title: Seminar in Mathematics in Teaching and Learning
Description: Seminar format. This course involves deliberative group inquiry - through reading, writing and intensive discussion - into mathematics teaching, learning and mathematics education research; analysis and design of cognitively demanding mathematical tasks; and analysis of students' mathematical thinking, written responses, and common misconceptions in the mathematics classroom. Each student completes an action research project focused on a topic selected with guidance from the instructor.
