SUNY at Stony Brook MAT 535: Algebra II
Spring 2023

Welcome to MAT 535

Algebra II is one of the core courses intended for first-year graduate students. It is the second course in the 2-semester sequence (Algebra I, Algebra II) which covers the basics of algebra, the concepts and methods of algebra that are used in all branches of mathematics. During the second term we cover mulilinear algebra, elements of homological algebra, field theory and foundations of algebraic geometry. We also study fields and Galois theory and representations of finite groups.

For more information, please select General information link in the menu to the left. Starting March 7, the course is merged with MAT 314/525 Abstract algebra II.

The final exam will be on Tuesday, May 9, 8:00am-10:45am in Math 4130. MAT535 Final Exam review.
