Course Description

This course aims to develop your understanding of the logical basis of mathematics, and your ability to work correctly within the logical system which supports mathematics. In this way, MAT 155 lays the foundation for subsequent courses in the STO Masters Program, Specifically, we will study fundamental ideas like number, set, and function, and work at understanding and constructing proofs using these concepts. Since one can only learn mathematics by doing it, the in-class work and homework are integral parts of the course.
