SUNY at Stony Brook MAT 118: Mathematical Thinking
Spring 2010
Schedule
Tentative Schedule and Homework of MAT118

This schedule is, as the title indicates, work in progress. It will be updated so that you will always find the homework due the following week. It is your responsibility to check it accordingly.

Homework is a mandatory part of the course. Homework assignments are due each week in recitation. Under no circumstances will late homework be accepted.

The numbering in the schedule below refer to the course textboox Using and Understanding Mathematics, by Jeffrey Bennet and William Briggs, fourth edition (If you have an older edition, make sure you are working in the indicated problems).

It is allowed (and encouraged) to discuss the problems with other students in the class, however you (and only you) are responsible for the write up. All the work you hand in should be your own, not copied or "inspired" from someone else's work (This includes "fishing" in the Internet for answers).  Suspiciously similar solutions will receive no credit and will be reported to the Academic Judiciary.

New material is presented every week. You shoud read the corresponding section of the texbook before the class.
