MAT 552 Problem Sets Introduction to Lie groups and Lie algebras Spring 2022

These problem sets are primarily to help students master the material. The problems are drawn from various sources, including the recommended textbooks (but students are not required to purchase these textbooks).

• Problem Set 0 is due Wednesday, February 2: please write a short note about your own interests in the theory of Lie groups and Lie algebras.
• Problem Set 1 is due Wednesday, February 9.
• Problem Set 2 is due Wednesday, February 16.
• Problem Set 3 is due Wednesday, February 23.
• Problem Set 4 is due Wednesday, March 2.
• Problem Set 5 is due Wednesday, March 9.
• Problem Set 6 is due Wednesday, March 23.
• Problem Set 7 is due Wednesday, March 30.
• Problem Set 8 is due Wednesday, April 6.
