University Campus

The conference will be held at the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, University of Crete, Heraklion, which is located in the campus in Voutes, approximately 8km southwest of the center of the town of Heraklion.

There is frequent bus service from/to town via line 11, that also serves the University Hospital of Heraklion (PEPAGNI) and the Foundation of Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH or ITE).

When using the bus keep in mind that "University" may appear as ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ (the Greek word for University), or PANEPISTHMIO (a visual transliteration from Greek).

Update:

From city center to university campus:

Due to construction, several bus lines have changed their route. You can take bus number 11 (destination: ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ) to get to the university campus. It runs every 10-15 minutes and it takes approximately 30 minutes. You can take it from Plateia Kornarou or Agiou Mina stops (see map below) with direction towards the west. Use the blue ticket (1.70 euros), which you can buy from the mini markets near the bus stops. Tickets are not sold inside the bus, neither at the university, so make sure to buy enough tickets for your return trip. Get off at the last stop, called Panepistimio (ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ). The bus stops at the university hospital before it makes a very sharp right turn and reaches the university. Once arrived at the bus stop please follow the arrows towards the Department of Mathematics (see also map below).

From university campus to city center:

You can take bus 1, 11, or 20 to get to the city center. Use the exact same bus stop as the one you got off at when coming to the campus. (Do not use the stop across the street.)
