• James Stewart, Calculus, Concepts and Contexts: Single Variable, third edition, Brooks-Cole Publishing.
Note that you need the THIRD EDITION.

• COURSE DESCRIPTION:

• This course is a continuation of MAT 131 and covers most of the second half of the text, from section 5.5 on, and the notes on differential equations. The main topics are integration and some of its simple but important applications, an introduction to differential equations, as well infinite sequences and  series.
You are expected to be familiar with the material of MAT 131, namely derivatives, the basic definitions and properties of definite and indefinite integrals, together with the fundamental theorem of calculus. Its important that you review this material so that you have as firm a grasp of it as possible.

• EXAMS AND QUIZZES:

• There will be quizzes each week, expect in the weeks with test, as well as two  Midterm Exams, and  Final Exam, scheduled as follows:

IDS WILL BE REQUIRED AT THE FINAL; REMEMBER TO BRING YOURS.

• MAKEUPS:  There will be no makeups for midterm exams. As for the final exam, university policy is that makeup exams are given only for work missed due to documented medical reasons and for exceptional "unforeseeable" circumstances beyond the student's control. This does not include schedule conflicts. Makeup examinations must be arranged with your lecturer

• CALCULATORS:  While we strongly recommend you have and use a calculator, it is not actually required.
