FALL '00

Your final NUMBER GRADE FOR MAT 126 is the sum of the number grades from the 3 tests (max 200+200+400=800 pts), the hmk (max 100pts; computed using your ten best hmk scores) and the quizzes (max 100pts; computed using your 5 best quizzes scores). The number grades for the final and the NUMBER GRADE FOR MAT 126 are posted on your TA's door (Sections 04 and 08 : on the door to MATH 4-105). You can check in person your final by appointment with your TA until Friday December 22, 2000 or early next year. Finals cannot be returned to students until the end of NEXT semester (SUNY regulations).

The NUMBER GRADE FOR MAT 126 has been curved (see below) by us and converted to a letter grade, the COURSE LETTER GRADE FOR 126. This is your grade for this course and it will be posted outside Room P-143 in the MATH Tower. This is done by the mathematics department, not individually by us, so we are not sure when it will be done; hopefully the day after the test.

Sections 01, 02, 03, 04 (145 people): in the GYM. PROCTORS: de Cataldo, St. John, Valdez and Wang. The final for MAT 125 (505 people) also takes place there. IMPORTANT: the students from 126 and 125 will be seated separately. As you arrive, be sure you sit in the right place. If not sure ask the proctors.

The final covers all the material covered this semester with emphasis on the last part: sections 5.8, 5.9, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5 and 6.7. NOTE: normal distributions (pages493-494) will not be tested in the test.

Be in your assigned room by 1:45 PM. !!! YOUR TEST WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY THE PROCTORS IF TURNED IN IN THE WRONG ROOM !!! Bring your ID. As you turn in the test be sure that your name is on your test and that you've signed the sheet of paper with the proctors. No calculators, books etc. On your desk only: the test, pen and unwritten paper to work with. Backpacks etc.: closed in plain sight not to be touched.

1) The last day of class will be a review session run by the instructors.

2) Each section, except for section 09 (ask your instructor), will have an extra TA review section run by the TA for that section. Seats are limited. Please be sure to attend the review session for your section.
