There will be a memorial service honoring Igor Vulfovich Slobodkin here at Tufts on Monday, February 26, 1996. We hope that as many of you as are able will come. At the memorial service, Carol Kumamoto, Igor's advisor, will give a talk explaining the progress Igor made in his research. The Trustees of Tufts University have approved the awarding of Igor's Ph.D. degree. The presentation of this degree will be announced by the Dean. During the remainder of the service, there will be a variety of remembrances of him. Slides will be shown. A video will be shown which includes a few scenes of Igor, and reminiscences will be read by people from his department. We will have a display of Igor's photography, and the poster he made of his research, set up for viewing afterward. The service will be at 3:00 PM in the Atrium Auditorium, which is down one level from the large atrium in the North Building, at 800 Washington Street. If you can't find it you can call the information desk in the atrium at 636-7700. If you can, please come.
