I have been involved with the Computer Science field for many years and currently work as a Systems Engineer. Previously, I have worked as a Unix System Administrator at the SUNY, Stony Brook Math Dept. - home of some world-famous mathematicians & at Silicon Graphics in the NAFO Systems Engineering group. After graduation, I joined a Defense company as a Microprocessor Systems Design engineer. Got interested in engineering and computers during the NASA Mercury/Gemini space flights & the Apollo moon landings. I did my undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and obtained a Masters from SUNY at Stony Brook. I have lived mostly on Long Island, NY but spent my youthful years in Northern India, where my Dad was a business executive for Merck, Roche and other pharmaceutical companies... therefore the British bias. I have quite a few interests - am into sports, music, travel, books (history, politics, fiction, science), nature, computers (of course!) plus a few other things. My travels have taken me to England, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Lebanon, Kuwait, UAE, Russia, Canada, India and Mexico. I truly enjoy England the most... but for now my sights are on Australia & New Zealand! My favorite pastime is playing CRICKET, a fascinating game that keeps me fit and positive about life in the 21st century!
