(In Exercise 11.4.4, assume that $u$ is twice continuously differentiable on U. In the hint for that exercise, where it says "or equivalently ...", ignore what it says it's equivalent to.)

There are too many important exercises in sections 12.2 and 12.3 for one week. Here are eight of them; I will be assigning more in later weeks.
