The main purpose of the early exam is to check whether you are prepared to take calculus. But it will also determine 10% of your course grade for MAT 131 (or MAT 125, should you decide to drop back.) Now that the results are in, does your score say you're ready to take the course? And, if so, what effect will your exam score have on your letter grade for the course?
The hypothetical letter grades suggested below are for advisory purposes only. Your course grade will be calculated on the basis of a numerical averaging scheme, and these letter grades are therefore technically meaningless. Nonetheless, they will help put your early exam score into some kind of perspective.
Note that two scores are given: what your grade means in MAT 131, and what that grade will be should you decide to drop back to MAT 125.
