These lectures lead by a relatively straight path from the end of a one-semester course in Lie groups through the Langlands classification of irreducible admissible representations of linear connected reductive groups. The lectures are for the most part distillations from the books Representation Theory of Semisimple Groups: An Overview Based on Examples (1986) and Lie Groups Beyond an Introduction (1996), which have extensive bibliographies.
