25 years of low-dimensional dynamics at Stony Brook

Directions for getting to the Stony Brook campus can be on the found on the University web page. There is a LIRR train station at the north end of the Stony Brook campus, very close to the Math Tower.

If you are flying in to JFK, take the AirTrain to Jamaica, and from there you can take the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to Stony Brook (Port Jefferson branch). There are some direct trains from Jamaica to Stony Brook; for the rest most likely you will need to transfer at Huntington.

If you are flying in to LaGuardia, take bus Q70 to Woodside (~15 min) and from there the Long Island Railroad to Stony Brook (Port Jefferson branch). Alternatively, you can take a cab to either Woodside or Jamaica, and then the LIRR to Stony Brook.

If you are flying in to Newark, take the AirTrain from your airport terminal to New Jersey Transit and then the train to New York Penn Station. From there, you can take the Long Island Railroad to Stony Brook (Port Jefferson branch). Trains to and from Penn Station generally require transfers at Jamaica, Huntington or Hicksville.

MacArthur/Islip Airport is 16 miles from the university; Lindy's Taxi (Village Taxi) at +1(631)851-0000 charges about $30+tip for the trip. Note that car service from JFK or LaGuardia will be around $80, and Newark will be more than that.

Directions for getting to the Stony Brook campus by car can be on the found on the University web page. Parking at the Hilton Garden Inn is complimentary. One can also park in the parking lot next to the Math Department (visitor parking permit required).

Most participants will be housed at the Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook , which is conviniently located on campus, so one can walk from the hotel to the train station and to the Math Department (which is next to the Simons Center for Geometry & Physics). Other hotels in the Stony Brook area are Holiday Inn Express and Three Village Inn.

There are many options to have lunch on campus: Simons Center Cafe (in the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics), Jasmine at the Wang Center (Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Indian), SAC Cafeteria (subs, pizza, grill, in the Student Activity Center). Here is a map with the dining places on campus.
Also close by one can go to the Curry Club (Indian) and to Green Cactus (Mexican, near the train station), Green Tea (Chinese), Domino's Pizza, Station Pizza & Brew. Off campus restaurants, very good: Raga (Indian), Sushi-Ichi (Japanese), Pentimento (Italian), Pita House (Mediterranean). Most restaurants have take-out options.

We will have a welcome Wine&Cheese reception on Friday afternoon in the Simons Center (4-5pm), a Picnic/Barbeque on Saturday evening in the Avalon Park (Field&Barn), and a Banquet on Monday evening (starting from 6:30pm) in Port Jefferson at Lombardi's on the Sound. Bus transportation will be provided for the Picnic and for the Banquet.
We will provide lunch on Saturday, and subsidize lunches at the Simons Center Cafe on Monday and Tuesday, for registered participants.
