Title: | Open problems about triangles |
Speaker: | Chris Bishop, Stony Brook University |
Location: | Math 5-127 |
Abstract: | |
You might think that we understand everything about planar triangles, but this is not true, especially when we fit them together to form triangulations. In this talk I will survey some recent results involving triangles and triangulations, and a variety of problems that remain open (focusing mostly on questions I have worked on myself). Along the way we will touch on algorithms, dynamical systems, Riemann surfaces and quasiconformal maps. |
